January 2017

So yes I am back writing this diary again. You’ll have to forgive me for abandoning it last year, I just had a lot of things happening and could only find very random times to update it. However this year I am aiming for one update a month. Starting with January…

What a month… It’s been somewhat of an emotional rollercoaster. It’s not been all unpleasant but also not been exactly plain sailing either. This blog is really no place for me to tell you exactly what has gone on but whatI can express here will be done so. Mostly because I want to protect the other people that have been involved and I don’t want to cause anyone pain by feeling guilt but let’s look at what I can tell you.

New Year

The new year was an event, definitely a massive highlight of the month, not going to forget it in a hurry. It’s right up there in my memory banks along with the new year that I spent in Poland. After much planning and organisation, I spent this new year in a hot tub. It was not exactly cheap but it was worth every penny. We had about 8 people in total arrive at the house. I had cooked a starter of Broccoli and Stilton soup with a Chicken and Black Eyed Bean stew for the main course with veg. We had a crate of Prosecco, tunes and everything. It was all very friendly, there was a spot of nudity but everybody was respectful which made me feel super awesome. Sooner or later the temperature in the hot tub got to a point that was not so comfortable so everybody transitioned inside and then people set about snuggling down for the evening. There were some people who over indulged and were ill but that is just all part of the course.

Life in general

Some of you will be pleased to hear that I still have not managed to do anything too crazy with my new motorbike. The older 125 is now officially up for sale and us now just wait until somebody buys it. All of the money I get for it will be going towards paying off the loan for my new bike. In other eventful news I have a new special someone in my life, over the past few months we have been learning a lot more about each other which has to lead to some very emotional conversations but that’s not always a bad thing. I can say that I am happy that we are both making time and effort in getting to know each other’s boundaries. Work is going well, there is a bit of a lull in the work at the moment but that is to be expected in January. Life in Bristol is good but I am reaching a point where I feel like I need to move out so I have begun to put things in place to hopefully put me on track for buying a house.

What else? I have lost some weight. I was beginning to feel a bit lethargic so started going to the gym and doing a bit more. I have not really been dieting, not been drinking as much as normal but it looks like my metabolism has increased again. I am still writing for GeekOut, our monthly meetups continue to attract more people and I have acquired a fair few new followers on Twitter because of the articles I have written. I know that I won’t have time to write for them every week this year but I will continue to do what I can.

That’s about it really, it was an odd month.
